Z at 6am, on her 5 month B-day, a little confused and tired!

Z's 5 Month Birthday! It hardly seems possible, but Z turns 5 Months Old this week. We have found that time flying has taken on a whole new meaning. First the teeth, next thing you know she will be sitting up by herself, crawling, walking,  talking. Littles is getting Big.

This was on our Honeymoon in Bruges!
This week marks our 7th year together! We had our first date on August 1, 2003 at Governor's Park on the patio.   Proudly, we are happier than ever, especially since we have established our ancestral linkage (had a baby). We will be celebrating this weekend, with the same fare that we shared our first evening - Widmer Brothers Hefeweizen and Nachos. On the patio, of course.

We find laughter to be contagious, the best medicine, an instant vacation, and the thing that makes our days, weeks and years fly by. We are excited that our Flip camera has been so useful. We have been able to record not only our travels, but many firsts, seconds and great moments. Here is 36 seconds to enjoy our baby. Hope you like it!

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter. ~e.e. cummings

More LAUGHING...ROCLMAO

This is one of the first times Z rolled over - on purpose. She has done it a few times, but now? ALL THE TIME. Constantly. She sleeps on her belly and is wondering why she never liked it before.

Change is in the air at the Easley Chateau, but the weather outside has not changed. While it seems that the rest of our friends and family are having a bit of a heat wave, we are getting a lesson in meteorology. Everywhere we go the poor locals are bundled up in our hoodies, suffering record low highs. We almost turned on the fireplace last night. La Nina is the culprit, the sista to El Nino. Excitement!

Ben passed his engineering exam! Ben is officially a Professional Engineer in the State of California. He is now able to stamp his designs and has proven his competence in civil, seismic and surveying. To celebrate we baked this cake:

It is supposed to look like an engineer's stamp. Notice the old school piping, Cake Boss would be proud!

Red Velvet cake and our own Secret Recipe! Delicious!
Baby Z's first tooth came in! On 7/21 Littles had her first tooth pop through. We have been going through a bit of the drool, and boom, there it was! The second came out right after. Her face changed with the new tooth - she sucks her lip in and it kind of gives her a new look. Anyone else notice that with your kids? It makes us a little sad, she is growing up too fast!
Here is Z showing off her new tooth!
Z's gears are grinding...in this next photo she is really concentrating and figuring out that these faces are the same. Look at the wheels turning!
Learning as fast as she can!

Father/Daughter Dance! Z went to her first formal event, to celebrate the wedding of our friends Natalie & Jeremy. She was the perfect little guest! No whining, just smiling!
Here she is saying hello to her favorite Great Grandpa she adopted!

Here they are rocking out to some Latin rhythms!
Dipping with her Momma!

It's been a really cold July in Sunny Southern California. After the June gloom went away, we had a couple days of heat, then the cold air moved in! It actually rained twice this month! Where are we?? Weird! Here is one of the last days we had out in the full sun.

Z says "ta ta for now", we are hoping on an exciting week with some sun and surf!

Future Ichthyologist in Action

Z had her first toe dip in the ocean! She is really liking new textures and sensations! 7/15/2010.

Maybe she will be a surfer. She is already looking forward to being a Jr. Lifeguard. Right now she is fine being a Jr. Starfish.

Here are two more neat comparisons of how much she has grown:

It has been one year since we confirmed our lives were changing forever. We planned our escape from Asia, came back to the U.S. and chilled for the duration of gestation. Below is who we were growing, meeting, getting to know, and introducing to the world.
As much as we have grown as travelers, people, a couple, parents and humans in the past year, Z has surpassed us in just a few short months. Here are some comparison photos of the growing girly. We are amazed every day at her big bones and sturdy Greco body. She is the light of our lives, the center of Hyper Bueno's Universe.
